Yikes. YIKES! Too hard and too scary! I like a little creepiness, but I don’t like to jump out of my seat when I’m trying to solve a puzzle because a very zombie-looking ghost popped out at me and screamed. It’s like those horrible youtube videos…
But if that weren’t enough, finding the objects proved to be near impossible (ok, I looked in that spot a hundred times and it never occurred to me it was a gecko!). The hints suck too – they’re spiders and you use them real fast. Then you’re just stuck. Oh, and finding the differences between the two photos? Good luck!!
Basically I played the game a total of 10 minutes before reaching my maximum creeped-out level. Ok, it was a little more than that, but only because it took me forever to find that ridiculous gecko, and even that was an accident.
Not enjoyable. Not even a little bit.

Two words – Very Fun. This one reminds me of an easier, less serious version of Myst. Plus it seems longer than other games of this genre – I didn’t finish it in just one night! Takes a while to download, but it’s got everything I want – nice scenery, lots of exploring, plenty of puzzles & mini-quests to solve, and funny characters to talk to. The difficulty level was perfect – I was never given any sparkles or highlighting, but I was never left pulling my hair out either. Plus the actual finding of objects was challenging, but not so much that I felt I was ruining my eyesight just by looking. And they have several different ways of doing it just to mix it up, my favorite being the “find the related pairs”. Being the first Hidden Expedition game I’ve played, I’m anxious to see if I’ll enjoy the others as much. This game is probably my favorite thus far.

I admit it, I have a new-found obsession with hidden object games these days. After playing what seemed like every online free-trial game of this type ever posted on the internet, I was ready to play a full version. No, NEEDED to play a full version. But I’m cheap, so I don’t want to spend 6 dollars a month to download some games that will probably wipe out what’s left of my computer. So thank my lucky stars my husband is awesome and happened across Wendy’s Blog, which has a BUNCH of free games to download, different kinds, and virtually bug-free.
However, I’m picky when it comes to my games. They can’t just be a waste of time. They have to waste my time wisely. I’ll be posting comments on what I think of these games, which ones are my faves, and which ones should just be ignored. As I am always on the lookout for another decent virtual adventure, please feel free to leave your suggestions as well.
